Description

A festive and crunchy granola flavored with warm Christmas spices, perfect for holiday mornings or gifting.


Ingredients

  • 5 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 cups (180g) old-fashioned rolled oats (jumbo oats)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp orange zest
  • 6 tbsp whole almonds
  • 4 tbsp sweet dried cranberries (optional)
  • 4 tbsp roasted pistachio nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix maple syrup, water, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, combine oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and orange zest.
  4. Pour the syrup mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until evenly coated.
  5. Spread the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes, then stir in almonds.
  7. Bake for another 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool completely before adding cranberries and pistachios (if using).
  9. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, bake the granola a few minutes longer.
  • Adjust spices to your taste.
  • Add other dried fruits or nuts if preferred.
