Description
Delicious Christmas donuts with warm spices and festive icing.
Ingredients

- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp powdered ginger
- 1/4 tsp allspice
- 1/8 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 3 tbsp molasses
- 1/3 cup whole milk
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup confectioner's sugar
- 1 tbsp hot water
- 2 tsp eggnog
- 1/4 tsp maple syrup
- 1/2 cup crumbled gingersnap cookies
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, allspice, cloves, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk brown sugar, egg, molasses, milk, vanilla, and melted butter.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until smooth.
- Fill donut pan cavities 2/3 full.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool donuts on a wire rack.
- Mix confectioner's sugar, hot water, eggnog, and maple syrup for icing.
- Dip cooled donuts in icing and sprinkle with gingersnap crumbs.
Notes
- Store leftover donuts in an airtight container.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the batter.
