Description
A delicious twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich, featuring BBQ chicken and melted Havarti cheese on garlic butter bread.

- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 ½ cups shredded roasted chicken
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 12 slices Havarti cheese
- ¼ cup butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons parsley, minced
- 12 slices sourdough bread or sturdy white bread
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add red onion and minced garlic. Cook until softened.
- Add shredded chicken, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and BBQ sauce. Mix well and cook for 3-5 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix butter, minced garlic, and parsley to make the garlic butter.
- Spread garlic butter on one side of each bread slice.
- Place a slice of Havarti cheese on the unbuttered side of half the bread slices.
- Top with BBQ chicken mixture and another slice of Havarti cheese.
- Cover with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
- Cook each sandwich in a pan over medium heat until golden brown and cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Notes
- Use leftover roasted chicken for convenience.
- Adjust BBQ sauce quantity to taste.
- Serve immediately for the best texture.
